NEW YORK POLYPHONY
New York Polyphony, described by NPR as “one of the foremost vocal chamber ensembles active today,” will return to the landmarked Jamesport Meeting House on Saturday evening, October 14, at 7:30, as part of its premier 1731 Series in a concert partly funded by a grant from Suffolk County. North Fork Contemporary / Amei Wallach Film
Sunday, September 17th – 4PM, North Fork-based filmmaker Amei Wallach will introduce a screening of her film Ilya and Emilia Kabakov: Enter Here, which the New Yorker called “A marvelous documentary” and the New York Times described as “a multifaceted portrait conveying the emotional urgency of the Kabakovs’ work.” The screening will be followed by a presentation about North Fork Contemporary, a new non-profit art organization for the North Fork. BREAKOUT!
BREAK OUT! a one-act play by Maggie Bloomfield and Susan Dingle will be performed by them at the Jamesport Meeting House Sunday, August 27, 7:00 p.m. The show is composed of poems and monologues about how two young women found their way to recovery, one from the world of the Greenwich Village and Broadway, and the other from the world of Hollywood. A fresh new film series wraps up this summer at the 1731 Jamesport Meeting House. Live musicians are accompanying classic and contemporary silent movies. The fourth program, People, Places, Things on Friday, July 28th at 7:30 pm, will feature a suite of silent works by North Fork artist / filmmaker, Cliff Baldwin. The performance of the Latin Jazz band S.Y.O.T.O.S originally scheduled for Saturday July 22 must be postponed. Unfortunately, we didn't realize that the Jamesport Fire Department’s annual carnival and bazaar concludes that evening with their usual spectacular fireworks display.
