Built in 1731, the Jamesport Meeting House has withstood many storms, including a fire triggered by a lightning strike in 1900. Is your household prepared for a natural or man-made disaster? Learn how to best to prepare, respond and recover from an emergency at a FREE New York State Emergency Preparedness Class on Thursday, June 11 at 6:30 p.m., at the Jamesport Meeting House. The class is open to the public and is being hosted by the Greater Jamesport Civic Association and presented by New York State Homeland and Emergency Services.
