Northeast Stage will present a Playlets & Poetry Festival at the Jamesport Meeting House on October 24, 25 & 26 at 7:00 p.m. and on October 27 at 5:00 p.m.  The festival will feature a range of small plays and adapted literature including spine-tingling autumnal poems perfect for the Halloween season. The performers will step into Purgatory, NY, where they take shelter in a basement with others during a tornado. Here they discover macabre literary works which help to pass the time, such as Thornton Wilder’s “Mozart and the Gray Steward,” Christina Rossetti’s “Goblin Market,” Tara Meddaugh’s “When Marshmallows Burn,” Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Raven,” J.M. Barrie’s “When Wendy Grew Up: An Afterthought,” and other frightening tales. Tickets are $20. For more information and to purchase tickets visit: www.northeaststage.org.
