The Sebastians chamber ensemble will bring their exceptional performance of baroque and classical music to the Jamesport Meeting House on Saturday, November 9, at 7:30 p.m. Known for their passionate approach and use of period instruments, The Sebastians have been described by The New York Times as “sharp-edged and engaging,” delivering an “energetic…youthful, vigorous performance style…”

The ensemble will perform a program titled, “Vim and Vigor,” a spirited celebration of the baroque “trio” sonata of two violins, cello, and harpsichord. This joyful program showcases the unique dynamism of the baroque through the eloquent melodies of Handel, the complex counterpoint of Bach, and the harmonic richness of Corelli, alongside a newly-commissioned trio sonata by Karl Hinze.

Tickets are $20 and may be purchased through the link below, with remaining tickets to be sold at the door, if available. A meet the artists reception will follow the concert. The Sebastians performance is part of the 1731 Concert Series that features world class performers from the metropolitan area at the Jamesport Meeting House, and is funded in-part through a grant from the Suffolk County Office of Cultural Affairs and Legislator Catherine Stark.
